Bright deep ruby-purple in colour so be careful of your white disco pants. Nose is medium intensity with damson plum , floral and oak notes. Chocolate, custard and other oak aromas dominate. The palate has more muscle, an intense mouthful of spice, charcuterie, black currant, blackberry and roasted herbs with high tannins. This structured wine needs 3-4 more years to open up and should be delicious when the underlying fruit is revealed. RATING: 90 pts.
